Please don’t trade DeRosa!

Sunday, February 17th, 2008

Dear Uncle Lou,

Please do what you can to convince Mr. Hendry that Mark DeRosa should NOT be traded! I just read today about the trade rumors concerning DeRosa who would be sent to Baltimore for Brian Roberts. Admittedly, I did not keep up with trade talks during the off-season (I was a bit pre-occupied; ya know, school, work – those sorts of things). DeRosa is one of the few clutch players that the Cubs have had during recent memory, on whom the team can rely to get things done. DeRosa is also a valuable utility player. It was a lot of fun watching him play last season. He gives the impression that he truly loves coming to the ballpark every day, which is refreshing during these controversial times for baseball.

Looking forward to seeing you guys in Mesa in a couple weeks.

Sincerely,
Francesca

Drink up, Uncle Lou!

You deserve it! Congrats to the Cubs for clinching the National League Central title tonight. It still hasn’t sunk in for me, though. It’s like I’m numb. I’m happy as hell, but numb.
