So long, Dusty

Wednesday, October 18th, 2006

Dear Dusty,
I apologize for not writing sooner; you know, I was out of the country when the Cubs decided to send you packing. While I am sorry that you were let go, we all know your departure is in the best interest of the entire Cubs organization. Thanks for all of the great memories, and good luck in your future endeavors.

An important message

Sunday, April 9th, 2006

Dear Dusty,
I know you are in the midst of your very own contract negotiations, but in the meantime, could you please pass on a message to General Manager Jim Hendry? It goes as follows: Give Derrek Lee a contract extension – ASAP!!

Yours truly,

So long, LaTroy!

Saturday, May 28th, 2005
Dear Dusty, A big thanks to you and Mr. Hendry for taking our suggestions seriously; although, I'm sure trading LaToya Hawkins had more to do with your diminishing job security. Now can you start working on getting us ... [Continue reading this entry]

Horrible Hawkins

Saturday, April 23rd, 2005
Dear Dusty, But when are you and Mr. Hendry going to get together and finally rid the Cubs of LaTroy Hawkins??? How many games does Hawkins have to singlehandedly blow before he's finally shipped out of town? Hawkins does ... [Continue reading this entry]

Dear Dusty, Buckle up, Johnnie B., and get ready for an earful from me. This ain't no love letter. Bottom of the ninth against the Mets. Cubs up 3-0. Two outs. Two strikes. Two on. LaTroy ... [Continue reading this entry]

Golden Glendon

Saturday, August 21st, 2004
Dear Dusty, Since you and your staff take my suggestions so seriously, I wanted to pitch in my two cents regarding this year's team MVP. Pitcher Glendon Rusch gets my vote, hands down. So, Johnnie B., why don't you ... [Continue reading this entry]

I’m Getting Close To Crossing Over To The Dark Side

Tuesday, July 20th, 2004
Dear Dusty, I am truly heartbroken. It's too painful to watch and/or listen to the Cubs games. It's gotten to the point where the only Chicago sports team I enjoy watching is...gulp...the White Sox. Please advise as to when the ... [Continue reading this entry]

Crossing over to the dark side

Tuesday, July 20th, 2004
Mr. Baker, your Cubs truly do suck. I think I'm going to become a Cardinals fan. At least they play like they want to win.

The Bullpen

Sunday, July 4th, 2004
Dear Dusty, What are we ever going to do with this wretched bullpen? Game 3 against the White Sox at Wrigley, and starter Glendon Rusch pitched the game of his life. Eight shutout innings. Absolutely spectacular. Then ... [Continue reading this entry]

Re: My Previous Request

Wednesday, June 30th, 2004
Dear Dusty, Sorry I missed the game last night. I was unable to watch it because I went to the movies to see Michael Moore's new movie "Fahrenheit 9/11." However, when I returned home, I turned on ESPN's Baseball ... [Continue reading this entry]
