Kilimanjaro video

Tuesday, May 1st, 2007

You might remember that I took a little trip about a year-and-a-half ago. It wasn’t a big trip, really. I just went to Tanzania to attempt to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro and to go on safari. It only turned out to be the top adventure of my lifetime. No big deal. Anyway, Donovan from BootsnAll sent this video to all the members of our Tanzania trip. I watched the whole thing once already and I am sure I will watch it several more times. Try to make it through the whole thing (it is over ten minutes long). But if you don’t, I make a cameo appearance towards the beginning 🙂 Big thanks to Donovan and the BootsnAll boys for putting this together, especially since so much time has passed. I did get a little emotional while watching it, mainly because of my failed summit attempt, but also because I am itching to get back on the road like that again.

Yet another way to waste time

Wednesday, August 30th, 2006

First try, originally uploaded by FrancescaM.

This one is called fd’s Flickr Toys. It allows users to make all kinds of fun stuff with their digital images, including mosaics like the one here that I created. This was my first experience with the Mosaic Maker so I didn’t get too creative; I just selected a few of my favorite pictures from my trip to Tanzania.

Give it a try, have fun – just don’t get caught making mosaics at work!
