Almost Italian
A few days ago I was contacted, via Flickr, by writer Skip Lombardi. He is the author of a cookbook titled Almost Italian. It is a collection of Italian-American recipes, such as clams casino and chicken parmiggiano, and corresponding stories. Mr. Lombardi said one thing was missing: photos. He had none of his own to include, no Sunday dinner preparation shots, no huge Italian family portraits. He found my photos on Flickr and thought they’d be a perfect accompaniment for the online edition of his cookbook. Mr. Lombardi is most interested in my food-related photos and some of the vintage black and white family shots.
I really am excited to be involved in this project, one that will allow me to celebrate and discuss my heritage and culture even more. The site Almost Italian is now up and running so check it out. Read the first entry all the way to the end (shameless self-promotion) and check back regularly to see if you’ve made the pages of Almost Italian.

After reading your introduction I had plenty of things on my mind. I think this a good idea and the pictures would be a nice addition from all the families involved. One thing that bothered me is your stiry of the Hungry Hippo disaster when I, your Italian American Father ,destroyed the game and beat all of you like Michael Vick did to his dogs. If people read that story they might realize that Italian American Fathers are not up to standard, especially when that have a demanding job and work three other jobs so they can be absent from their home and make enough money to support their family. At least not being home made it safe for the children and when I was sleepng in the residence, that distanced me from the children. Well, good luck and maybe you can bar him from seeing the Hungy Hippo article.
