Love, easy and simple
Thursday, March 31st, 2005Mom and I were looking through old pictures and artifacts tonight (seems like we do that a lot, no?) and we found this super-size Christmas card that Felicia made in grade school. It was finely crafted on green construction paper with a cut-out snowflake glued to the front cover. On each of the two inside pages is affixed a sheet of lined notebook paper. Written with meticulous penmanship is Felicia’s account of “Why My Family is Important to Me”:
My family is very important to me. We love each other very much. When Christmas comes we try to buy each other presents. When we celebrate birthdays we buy each other presents. That’s one of the ways that we show that we love each other.
If someone gets injured or becomes ill we are always there to help.
My brother plays hockey. When he has a hockey game our whole family goes. When he is on the ice we cheer for him.
My sister goes to St. Ignatius College Prep. When she needs help with her homework, we all try to help her out. For instance, if she has to make a speech, I pretend that I’m part of the audience.
That’s why I want to say Thank You and wish you a Merry Christmas.
Love, Felicia
Just a reminder of how uncomplicated love can be, and also a reminder of how simple life used to be.
